La Media Maratón Ciudad de Granada de este sábado estrenará por su cuadragesimoprimera edición un nuevo recorrido que viene a recuperar en buena medida el anterior al del paso por la Alhambra y el Generalife de la del año pasado. La modificación anunciada hace dos semanas cortó finalmente el acceso al conjunto monumental por «motivos técnicos para la conservación del patrimonio natural» siguió a otros cambios más ligeros, como el de la salida, que pasará del Paseo del Violón a la calle Poeta Manuel de Góngora (19.30 horas).

No pensaba escribir este año sobre la Media Maratón Ciudad de Granada. Qué iba a contar este año que no hubiera hecho antes, me decía. Decía Ely García, compañera de fatigas en zapatilla, en una story de Instagram, que esta carrera era "la más bonita del mundo por quien la corre". El tiempo máximo para completar la prueba es de 2 horas y 35 minutos. Marifrán Carazo recalcó que el 50% de los corredores participantes son de fuera de Granada y que el principal motivo es «la atracción que esta Media Maratón y las calles de Granada, de la mano de su atractivo recorrido, llaman la atención de aquellos que no son granadinos». De Puerta Real se seguirá directamente por la Acera del Darro, ahorrando el paso por Ganivet, las plazas Mariana Pineda y Campillo y la Carrera de la Virgen así como por los paseos del Salón y de la Bomba o Puente Verde ya recorridos.

La Media Maratón de Granada se celebrará el próximo sábado 26 de abril. Aunque en un primer momento se estableció una ruta distinta, el nuevo recorrido discurrirá por Cuesta Gomérez, Puerta de las Granadas, calle Real de la Alhambra, Paseo Bosque de la Alhambra (Hotel Washington Irving), Paseo del Generalife, Paseo de los Martires, calle Antequeruela baja y Cuesta del Caidero. Ha habido una corrección por parte de la organización en cuanto a los tiempo finales. Encarnación Vaquero cae a la cuarta posición tras cruzar la meta un segundo por detrás de Ana Belén Rodríguez, bronce finalmente. Otro momento especial lo ofrecieron Carlos y Andrea, una pareja que se desvive por el deporte y que no dudaron en aprovechar la fecha para vestir la camiseta de sus equipos, Barcelona y Madrid, quienes más tarde disputaron la final de la Copa del Rey.

Recorrido

Es el caso de Juanma, un joven granadino sin experiencia que únicamente llevaba dos semanas saliendo a correr. Me propuse esta carrera como un reto y pienso finalizar, me da igual el tiempo. Llevo semana y media entrenando y saliendo a correr, así será mi primera toma de contacto con este mundo, dónde mejor que en Granada, mi ciudad», asintió el joven sintiéndose orgulloso de sus raíces.

Las inscripciones se abrieron el 24 de enero, pero debido a la alta demanda, las plazas ya están agotadas. Sin embargo, puedes apuntarte en la lista de espera por si se liberan dorsales. Las salidas 12 de la circunvalación GR-30 (Méndez Núñez) estarán cortadas. Se mantiene un carril de salida de la ciudad a la circunvalación.

Carlos, con la azulgrana, y Andrea, portando su camiseta blanca, reconocieron que estaban enfocados en acabar la carrera pero Media Maratón Ciudad de Granda el partido los tenía con bastantes nervios. Martín, un ecuatoriano que cruzó el Atlántico exclusivamente para participar en la carrera, reconoció que cumplió un sueño. Ya había visitado antes el país pero me moría de ganas de correr aquí. Un amigo me consiguió el dorsal y me propuso una locura», contó a IDEAL con alegría en su rostro antes de iniciar la marcha.

Será un recorrido de 21 kilómetros que se desplegará por casi todo el centro y el centro histórico lo que ocasionará cortes de tráfico y cambios en las líneas de bus urbano. Todo se torció en enero, cuando al volver de las vacaciones de Navidad me llegó Fernando Herrero con un recorrido de Strava en WhatsApp. Y de esa forma acabé salpicado por un pique entre hermanos. Fer no había corrido en su vida nada más que dentro un 40×20, que diría Paco Caro, y el sábado no bajó de las dos horas en su primera Media por muy poco, precisamente, por ejercer de buen hermano con Íñigo. La alcaldesa destacó las novedades de esta nueva edición.

María Ángeles Gimeno se escapa en la femenina, a dos minutos de la segunda, María Teresa Díaz. El Paseo de los Tristes comienza a ser ocupado por los primeros corredores. Jesús Ángel Rodríguez y Daniel Gracia completan el podio masculino con la plata y el bronce, respectivamente.
